Prince of Peace has the closest weather station to Huffman Elementary

SCHOOL CLOSINGS/DELAYS
Now that the winter season is here, if you think that school will be closed or delayed due to bad weather, please check with one of the following sources for closing information:

  • Register for email or phone alerts for PISD closings and delays at:
    NBC5i (quick and simple registration, free mobile phone alerts to cellular email-directions for this provided)
    www.Cancellations.com (takes longer to register, email alerts are free but mobile phone alerts are not)
     
  • All major TV stations including Channels Fox 4, NBC 5, WFAA 8, CBS 11 and 31A
     
  • Major radio stations including FM 97.1, 106.1, 99.5, 103.7, 107.5 in addition to 570 AM and 820 AM
At 6 AM a decision is made by PISD officials.  If they decide to close school, the voice mail recording at Huffman’s main number (469-752-1900) will announce if school is closed or delayed.

 **REMINDER**
Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for the beginning and end of the day! Please mark all coats, hats, etc. with the child's name. A lost-and-found area is located outside of the cafeteria if your child loses an item.
