(Plano, Texas) – Huffman PTA is proud to announce the results from the 2007 Texas PTA Award Ceremony held in Austin, Texas on July 20th.  Of the twelve categories of awards given to local PTAs, Huffman received awards in eight.  No other PTA in Texas received more than three awards.   Huffman's shining achievements, three Overall Best in Texas awards for Legislative Guardian, Youth Protection and Newsletter were presented by Texas PTA President Michelle Humphries.   Huffman also captured Gold awards for Keep Texas Beautiful-Campus Beautification, the Green School Award, Arts in Education, Electronic Communication – Website and the Silver award for Electronic Communication – Newsletter.   Huffman PTA credits its amazing success to a strong focus on specific goals including student achievement, community connectivity, partnering with school staff, engaging its community and conducting meaningful programs and activities.   At the May 2007 Plano ISD Council of PTAs general meeting, Huffman was awarded the Outstanding Elementary PTA Award and the Outstanding PISD PTA Award.   "Huffman is excited to be recognized for its outstanding achievements, wonderful volunteers and meaningful programs.  Our greatest thrill is the positive impact we've had on our students and community," said PTA President, Susie Learmont.
