When you join the Huffman PTA, you join so much more!
You become a member of the oldest and largest child advocacy group in existence. Huffman PTA is a member of the Plano PTA Council, Texas PTA and National PTA. For over 100 years, PTA has been working to identify problems affecting children and devising strategies to resolve them. PTA has made huge advances in child labor laws, public health service, hot lunch programs, the juvenile justice system, mandatory childhood immunizations and car safety belt programs. As part of this larger system of PTAs, we have significant resources available to us. This includes training of officers and chairmen, state and national conventions and many award competitions--even a great national PTA Web site with helpful parent resources. When we work together, with one voice, we can make a real difference for our children.

National PTA Objectives

*To promote the welfare of children and youth in the home, school, community and place of worship;

About the Huffman PTA

What does PTA do? Here are some examples of how the PTA helps Huffman!

  • Purchases daily planners for all students in grades 3-5 

  • Funds student field trips (including bus charges!)

  • Funds Kindergarten “Fun Free Fridays,”  5th grade Graduation & year-end class parties

  • Provides magazine subscriptions for all students

  • Provides scholarship programs based on need as determined by the school counselor

  • Brings educational programming to Huffman to enhance curriculum 

  • Offers free parent education programs to all parents

  • Provides member benefits like student directory, yearbook, website, spirit wear, newsletter, school supplies & more

  • Funds teacher/school wish list items to enhance classroom experiences

  • Coordinates after-school enrichment programs like art, science & Spanish classes

  • Recognizes the contribution of our staff through teacher appreciation events
