Dear Huffman Families:
Welcome to another exciting year at Huffman! We are
so HAPPY to have you at our wonderful school this
year. Your Huffman PTA hopes that you get involved
because the more of our parents that join the PTA
and sign up to volunteer, the more we can do for our
school and kids.
During the summer, our PTA has been planning many
fun and educational events. Come to a meeting and
see what we are up to. If you can't make a meeting,
then go to the PTA website at
www.huffmanpta.org. It has lots of helpful
information. Another great resource is the YO
packets that come home every Thursday in the kids'
backpacks. READ IT!! It will keep you up to date on
things that the school and PTA are doing.
Our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of
Great Students) are ready and waiting for school
to start so they can work with our kids. Dads - this
is a phenomenal program that only asks for one day
of your time. The kids love seeing and working with
our Watch D.O.G.S. at school. Remember to go on the
PISD website at
www.pisd.edu to sign up to volunteer and get
your background check done. You will NOT be able to
help with the kids if this is not done. That means
no class parties and no field trips if it's not
done.
I hope that you and your kids enjoy their experience
at Huffman as much as my kids and I have. I
encourage you to get involved this year in any way
that you can. Your kids will love it!
