for Carpool
Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Carpool procedures are in place for the safety of all students
and it takes everyone’s support and cooperation to make the
program work effectively. The importance of being patient and
following the guidelines during carpool times cannot be stressed
enough. All parents and students are respectfully required to
adhere to the Carpool
Guidelines. |

Tips
on Keeping our Huffman Kids Healthy and Safe
from
Nurse Jen
DO NOT SEND
MEDICATION TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR CHILD! All medications
must be brought to school by a legal guardian and given to
Princess Nurse. There is an additional form you will need to
complete and sign before she can give your child any medicine in
school.
PLEASE keep our child home an
additional 24 hrs after they have had a fever &/or vomited.
They must be SYMPTOM-FREE and TYLENOL-FREE for 24 hours before
they may return.

Please don't forget to call the
ChildSafe line
(469-752-1900) if your child will be absent or tardy.
Following an absence, send an excuse note to the office.
Always include the first and last name of your child in addition
to the date(s) absent.

Remind your child and your family
members of Princess Nurses' favorite saying:
DON'T TOUCH YOUR
FACE!!!
Stay
healthy during this flu and cold season!!!!

VERY
IMPORTANT: We have
several students at Huffman who have a moderate/severe/life
threatening allergy to nuts. While we cannot guarantee an
allergen-free environment, with your help, we can attempt to
accommodate these students in their classroom setting.
Therefore, we are requesting that no
nut snacks be sent to school with your child at this time. This
may include, but is not limited to candies with nuts, etc. If
your child does bring nut snacks and/or lunch items, we request
that you notify the school in
advance, to allow us sufficient
time to arrange for other accommodations for the students with
allergies.

Bringing Lunches or
Homework to
Students
at School
Deliveries of late
lunches, homework, coats, projects, etc., will be taken to the
classroom by a volunteer and/or students who periodically check
the crates. The crates are located in the office marked by
grade level. Please place the forgotten items in these
bins for delivery to the classrooms.
If the student is
expecting a delivery, the teacher will allow him/her to check
the crates when necessary. We feel that this is an
efficient way for students to receive forgotten items and will
cause less interruption to classroom teaching.

Have You Moved?
If
you have moved, even to a different apartment within the same
complex, you will need to provide the office with a new proof of
residence., i.e., lease or recent gas or electric bill.
This will assure that any mailings go to the correct address.
If you are planning to move which
will result in the withdrawal of a student, please provide the
office with a few days' notice so that we can get the withdrawal
paperwork in order. |

New Telephone Number?
If you have changed your home or work
phone numbers, please let the teacher AND OFFICE know so that we can
update your emergency card. |
Huffman Dumpster
The
Huffman dumpster is for school use only. When it fills up with
other miscellaneous items, there is no room for us to throw our
trash in between pickups.
We are asking your help
in not using it for your household items. Thank you.
